The Motorhome Vacation that Helped Save Our Marriageposted on 22 April 2013 in Holiday and TravelMy wife and I were starting to drift apart. We were both too involved in work and weren't making time for each other. When she mentioned renting a motorhome from Cruise America and taking a 2 week trip on our vacation, my first thought was of all the things I could get accomplished at home during my vacation. She won! We rented the Roller Team motorhome and away we went. Our route was already planned, first we drove across Tennessee and north on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was amazing to me that the misc. squeaks and rattles that bothered me so much during the first few hours of driving, disappeared from my consciousness by the time we arrived at the Parkway. We spent 4 days on the Parkway and Skyline Drive.We then continued north and all the way around Lake Erie. It was a wonderful vacation! The thing that saved our marriage was the fact there is little else to do on a motorhome vacation other than to drive, talk, walk, cook out, relax and in our case spend some much needed time with each other. Our marriage was indeed refreshed. This was 10 years ago. The motorhome we affectionately called The Corndog helped us get our priorities straight. Thankfully we haven't needed a refresher since then...but know where the rental center is if we need it in the future. |

Judie is a careful driver and used her blinker to signal a turn into the lot ahead. As she pulled her van in, he pulled alongside and raised his thumb to his mouth and tilted his head back, indicating he wanted to drink with her. My First Over Night Trip In An RVposted on 6 February 2013 in Holiday and TravelI have always wanted to take a trip in an RV, but have never been able to do so because I don't own one. I recently came to my attention that it is possible to rent a Compass Suntor RV here in my home town of Las Vegas. I immediately became excited and began to plan a trip to Anaheim, California. The trip was with my daughter, and she was as exited as I was. Four days and three nights later, I had experienced one of the best times of my life. We planned the trip ahead of time and had only the smallest of problems during the trip that we were able to solve easily. It turned out to be the best quality time I have ever spent with my daughter. The trip to California took us six hours, but we were in no hurry to get there and took several breaks to stop and see the sites along the way. We prepared many of our meals in the RV which turned out great as the recipes used were designed for RV trips. We stayed at a local RV park and had power and access to a swimming pool. Traveling in an RV and living in one is an adventure and something I want to do again as soon as possible. |
